Pumpkin Spice Frosted Snack Cake

So, apparently pumpkin is all the rage and I totally missed the boat on all that. I have made two pumpkin recipes, the pumpkin bread and this, and James and I are not really fans of either. :( I think we don't like pumpkin as much as everyone else. We WANT to like it, we really do! And I love pumpkin pie. :(

Well, anyway. I saw this recipe and thought it looked good, so I tried it. It's a cheater recipe, but oh well. Everyone at school will like it! It's very moist and perfectly sweet with the frosting. Not a total loss, just not our favorite.

Pumpkin Spice Frosted Snack Cake

1 pkg. (2-layer size) spice cake mix
1 can (15 oz.) pumpkin
1 cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing (Yes, you read that correctly!)
3 eggs
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar (about 4 cups)

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.
2. Beat cake mix, pumpkin, dressing and eggs in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Pour into prepared pan.
3. Bake 32 to 35 min. or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
4. Beat cream cheese, butter, milk and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
5. Gradually add sugar, beating after each addition until well blended.
6. Spread over cooled cake. Cut into pieces to serve.
7. Store any leftovers in refrigerator.
