Celebrating 1 Year of Wedded Bliss

Although I couldn't (and still can't) believe that James and I have been married for just over a year, I have to admit - I am so, so, SO thrilled to have our wedding cake out of the freezer! That sucker took up so much room. Yay!

Wedding Day:

1 Year Later:

Everyone warned us that the cake would be disgusting and dry. We were bound and determined to eat it, though. I armed us with ice cream and we dove it, expecting the worst. But actually, this cake was pretty good. I was only going to have a bite of James' cake. (I'm not a big cake eater.) But it was so surprisingly good that I had a piece of my own. The icing definitely left something to be desired, but the cake itself was good! It was fun to eat and reminisce.

My grandma did a great job wrapping the cake after the wedding given how "fresh" it tasted. And thanks to Publix for making a tasty cake, even a year later.

Also, my mother-in-law, Jan, sent us the most beautiful vase as an anniversary present. It is gorgeous and might make me keep fresh flowers in the house all the time!

happy anniversary! our cake wasn't so great after one year...it was ok, but dry and the buttercream frosting was gross!
